I. About the Institute
The Nanjing-Helsinki Institute in Atmospheric and Earth System Sciences, Nanjing University (NJU Nanjing-Helsinki Institute) is a cooperative education institution jointly constructed by Nanjing University and the University of Helsinki and was officially approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in April 2022. NJU Nanjing-Helsinki Institute is the first Sino-foreign cooperative education institution in China that implements degree programs on atmospheric sciences for undergraduate and postgraduate (master and doctoral students).
Based on the high-level international research cooperation between the two universities in atmospheric and earth system sciences for more than ten years, and drawing disciplinary advantages and characteristics from two universities, the Institute is committed to cultivating top-notch talents with professional skills, innovative spirit and global perspectives. By aligning its disciplines and specialties with science frontiers and social needs for tackling climate change and sustainable development, the Institute will strengthen the integration and innovation between atmospheric science and artificial intelligence, socio-economics, ecological health and other disciplines to jointly create a modern talent training system to foster professionals in atmospheric and earth system sciences.
NJU Nanjing-Helsinki Institute has officially started the enrollment of undergraduates and postgraduates in 2023, and will carry out the training programs mainly on Suzhou campus of Nanjing University.
